The Joy Education Foundation is committed to building literacy fluency in students through the innovative use of technology. Our mission is to empower parents, schools, and community organizations with technological tools to enhance student reading literacy, from foundational phonics to advanced text analysis. As a tech-heavy organization, our Teaching Fellows are expected to be highly proficient with technology, including Google Suite/Google Workspace.

We are seeking dedicated teachers, as well as undergraduates and graduate students pursuing an education degree, who can deliver the Joy Education curriculum. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt lessons to meet individual student needs and provide data-informed adjustments to ensure student success.

Required Qualifications
  • Availability to work 1-2 hours between 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM ET, Monday through Friday.

  • Experience in K-12 education, literacy, or a related field.

  • Previous teaching experience.

  • Strong content knowledge of literacy practices, including phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary development.

  • Proficiency with technology for virtual instruction, including a reliable internet connection, a computer/laptop, webcam, and headset.

  • Ability to create a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Willingness to participate in all required training and professional development activities.

  • Ability to work independently.
  • Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
  • Education major.

  • Formal literacy training.

  • Experience with data-driven instruction.

  • Experience with virtual instruction.

    Teaching Fellow

    This is a virtual/remote position.

    Your Role: As a Teaching Fellow, you will be responsible for coaching and teaching students by delivering and facilitating curriculum. Your role is pivotal in fostering connections with students and families.
